Yoshimi is totally not this girl’s real name. Her real name is so incredible, so godlike, if she were to reveal it, it would crush the earth in the blink of an eye. “Yoshimi” is, however, a nickname given to me by a friend whose sole purpose in dubbing me this pseudonym was that they didn’t know anyone called Yoshimi at the time. It’s derived from the 2002 album Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots by the Flaming Lips.

I hold an interest in Japanese singers, idols and otherwise. In the sphere of Hello! Project, my favorite members in their respective groups would have to be Sawada Yuri for H!P Eggs (with an honorable nod towards Hashida Mirei), Yajima Maimi in °C-ute (miss you, Megukami *sadface*), and Sudou Maasa of Berryz Koubou. I’m a huge fan of Morning Musume thru generations 1-3, which gradually becomes more evident the increased time you spend looking through my blog because I talk about them at length. Within AKB48, I like Itano Tomomi and Kojima Haruna from Team A, Oshima Yuko and Kuramochi Asuka from Team K, and Kashiwagi Yuki from Team B.

Disregarding idols for a moment, I adore Nakata Yasutaka-produced projects, such as capsule and Perfume (A~chan!). I’m also pretty fond of Sawa, Saori@destiny, YMCK, and RAM RIDER. I enjoy Clazziquai Project, Goto Maki, SCANDAL, LAZYgunsBRISKY, and Fantastic Plastic Machine.
